The Confirmation program at Queen of Apostles Parish is a two-year program. For the first year (typically 8th grade), students should be enrolled in either a Catholic School or in a parish Faith Formation program. They are invited to register for Confirmation as early as their freshman year but are able to register for this program any high school year. Once registered, Confirmation students will attend classes approximately 1-2 times a month, either with their parent/guardian or sponsor. Confirmation will occur in the spring.
Please take a look at our Confirmation requirements before you register.
Every baptized person not yet confirmed can and should receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Since Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist form a unity, it follows that “the faithful are obliged to receive this sacrament at the appropriate time,” for without Confirmation and Eucharist, Baptism is certainly valid and efficacious, but Christian initiation remains incomplete. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, par. 1306)
Confirmation is not about deciding to be Catholic. By virtue of one’s baptism, they are already Catholic. Confirmation, a sacrament of initiation, completes baptism. Confirmation is more about a person responding to God’s generous outpouring of love and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
