I am the fourth of eight children born into the Krahenbuhl family, raised on a dairy farm south of Monroe. After graduating from Monroe High School, I studied Police Science and Criminal Justice, graduating from St. Ambrose College in 1980. My call to priesthood was serendipitous until I entered seminary at St. John’s Seminary in Collegeville, MN for the Diocese of Madison. It was there that the seeds of my love of liturgy and preaching were planted.
Ordained in 1984, I served as an associate pastor in a few different parishes, and as Vocation Director for the Diocese of Madison. In 1996, I was named Pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Beloit, where I served for the next 17 years. I moved on from there to serve the next decade in Portage and Briggsville, and finally landed here at St. Peter and St. Dennis in 2023.
While my love for liturgy and preaching have always been at the center of my priesthood, I also found I had a knack for renovating and building churches.
My hope in what will most likely be my final assignment before retirement is what it has always been since I was first ordained: to help create a spirit-filled community of faith in which everyone feels welcomed and fed by Christ.
